The 5-year old, Pune-based band Aswekeepsearching which grabbed international headlines for their edgy post-rock music, is all set to woo fans with their upcoming album ‘ROOH’, being launched on Friday, 27th September, 2019. Almost two years after their second album ‘Zia,’ their latest album ‘ROOH’ (meaning soul), brings alive the band's experiences, struggles & self-awareness over the years. An evolved form of their distinct post-rock sound, ‘ROOH’ has been mixed and mastered by Australian record producer Forrester Savell. The band has also introduced the sarangi into their music for the very first time featuring Ustad Alla Rakha Kalawant in the song “Aas Pass” from the album.
“ROOH is an expression of every member of the band, an extension of our experiences as a group and as individual musicians. The tracks amplify certain emotions, certain scenarios and memories that we’ve collected over the years. We’ve changed our feel with new layers and textures, edging more towards a rock than a post-rock sound, different from our previous two albums. We wanted to do something unique with ROOH and have already received some incredible feedback from our listening sessions.” said the band’s frontman and lead vocalist, Uddipan Sarmah
The music video for the title track of the album - ‘ROOH’ has already been launched and has received rave reviews from listeners. In the lead-up to the launch, the band has also been conducting exclusive listening sessions all across the country and will be performing ‘ROOH’ tracks for the first time ever at their album launch gig being held at AntiSocial, Mumbai on 10th October.

The first Indian band, which grabbed international attention for their post- rock music and modern aproach, Aswekeepsearching is all set to woo the fans with their upcoming album. The ‘Khwaab’ and ‘Zia’ hit makers have been making the release of their third album special by introducing innovative approaches like the launch of their first apparel line ‘Zia’ and an interactive fan club “AWKS Gazers”. Aswekeepsearching, who are known for their instrumental music interspersed with vocals, promises a different experience of enjoying music. The Ahmedabad/Pune based band has many feathers in its hat, including Europe tours, continuous interaction with their fans and collaboration with top brands like Vans India, OnePlus and Red Bull. A constant part of NH7 weekender, they are famous for leaving their audiences awestruck with their dreamy live acts including great dance acts mixed with fire stunts. Recently, they performed their setlist tour across various cities in India including Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune, among others, which witnessed packed venues of fans, singing along in chorus.
Those of you who have been around from the 1960's through the 1990's will remember the vibrant live music scene in almost every starred hotel in India. Those were the days when you walked into a nightclub like 'Rendezvous' at The Taj Mahal hotel and 'Supper Club' at the Oberoi Sheraton in Mumbai to see curtains going up on a band that was the prime focus of these outlets. Every seat in these restaurants allowed an unobstructed view of the band that performed every night on resident contracts. Today all this has disappeared thanks to some ridiculously high entertainment taxes on live music. Today, non off these hotels have complete bands playing save for a few that feature small duos or solo singers. The Lodhi in New Delhi, recently listed among the world's best hotels, decided to step in and rewind to the good old days. They got Goa's premier jazz quartet 'Jazz Junction' to move to Delhi on a resident contract and the decision has paid off in terms of footfalls generated by the band. Jazz Junction featuring singer Daniella Rodrigues, pianist Tony Dias,
bassist Colin D'Cruz and drummer Angelo Colasco began playing at The Lodhi in June 2018. Four months into the contract the band generated a sizeable following, with quite a few high profile guests choosing to celebrate their special occasion at the Elan bar where the band performs. Against all odds the rewind option proved to be a huge success and hopefully other properties around the country takes the cue to trigger a whole new revival of live music.
