In this month of Love, VYRL Originals is all set to refresh you with a new love song ‘Tum Na Ho’ by Arjun Kanungo & Prakriti Kakar. Composed by the young and talented M Ajay Vaas with lyrics by Kunaal Vermaa, the music video features internet sensations Awez Darbar and Nagma Mirajkar, who perfectly portray a love story of a young couple living in a long distance relationship who continue to be each other’s greatest strengths.
Directed by Adil Shaikh, the song illustrates a compelling love story that stands the test of time and space in today’s fast-paced world. It conveys a beautiful message of how true love can break the barriers of distance by displaying their affection and determination of being together. At the end of the video, the two protagonists find a way to be together regardless of their circumstances.
Pioneering this unique initiative in the non-film music space, VYRL Originals strategically partnered with Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT) to give an exclusive glimpse of ‘Tum Na Ho’ in their latest short film that revolved around love, which left fans curious and asking to hear more of the song making it a one of a kind collaboration.
Speaking about his experience on the track Arjun Kanungo comments,"I believe in giving my fans a variety of songs and Tum Na Ho felt like something new to me. It is a wonderful love song with a very fresh soundscape. Sometimes I feel like singing it, and at times dancing to it!. M Ajay Vaas is a talented young composer and I’m happy to be associated with him and yet another project for VYRL Originals. I feel in my gut that Tum Na Ho is going to be a superhit, so here goes!"
Sharing her thoughts Prakriti Kakar speaks,“Tum Na Ho is a super special track that I had the opportunity to hop on for VYRL Originals. It’s a very cool pop approach to a love song highlighting the concept of a Long Distance Relationship and is also extremely relatable. It’s composed by M Ajay Vaas and would be my first collaboration track this year. I instantly fell in love with the lyrics and the music when I heard it for the first time and can’t wait for everyone to finally hear it. This would be my second release this year and no better time to release than February which is the month of celebrating love! It also stars the extremely talented Awez and Nagma and their chemistry pops another flavor to the track and definitely takes the video to the next level. I’m absolutely hooked to the chorus lines and I hope everybody feels the same way! Stoked to be releasing this on 20th Feb and I hope everybody celebrates the spirit of fun , love and feelings with this one!”
Speaking about Tum Na Ho M Ajay Vaas comments, “Tum Na Ho is a track that is very precious to me as its one of those compositions that have come straight from my heart. I was always a fan of Arjun Kanungo and I am glad that both Arjun and Prakriti Kakkar came together to do this song, I couldn't have gotten any better duo to do this. VYRL Originals, always gives you more than what you expect, and the best part is that they understand the vision of composers as well. I think they have done complete justice to the song and I want to thank the entire team of VYRL Originals and Mohit Suri for believing in my compositions."
Speaking about the track, Vinit Thakkar, Chief Operating Officer, Universal Music India & South Asia, said,“2020 is going to be the year of collaborations and we are super excited to get the first collaboration going between our VYRL artists, Arjun Kanungo, Prakriti Kakar and M Ajay Vaas for our latest single Tum Na Ho. It is a unique collaboration that brings together best of both the worlds where Awez and Nagma add to the visual delight making it one of the most anticipated songs across diverse fan bases.”
Those of you who have been around from the 1960's through the 1990's will remember the vibrant live music scene in almost every starred hotel in India. Those were the days when you walked into a nightclub like 'Rendezvous' at The Taj Mahal hotel and 'Supper Club' at the Oberoi Sheraton in Mumbai to see curtains going up on a band that was the prime focus of these outlets. Every seat in these restaurants allowed an unobstructed view of the band that performed every night on resident contracts. Today all this has disappeared thanks to some ridiculously high entertainment taxes on live music. Today, non off these hotels have complete bands playing save for a few that feature small duos or solo singers. The Lodhi in New Delhi, recently listed among the world's best hotels, decided to step in and rewind to the good old days. They got Goa's premier jazz quartet 'Jazz Junction' to move to Delhi on a resident contract and the decision has paid off in terms of footfalls generated by the band. Jazz Junction featuring singer Daniella Rodrigues, pianist Tony Dias,
bassist Colin D'Cruz and drummer Angelo Colasco began playing at The Lodhi in June 2018. Four months into the contract the band generated a sizeable following, with quite a few high profile guests choosing to celebrate their special occasion at the Elan bar where the band performs. Against all odds the rewind option proved to be a huge success and hopefully other properties around the country takes the cue to trigger a whole new revival of live music.
